Virginia

Virginia was the 10th state to be added to the union and became a state on June 25th, 1788. Its population is roughly 7.1 million people and was named for Queen Elizabeth I of England. She was known as England’s “Virgin Queen”.

Northern Virginia is situated both inside and outside the beltway that circles Washington, DC. The Orange, Blue and yellow metro lines service the area. The Pentagon, which is the largest office building in the world, is located in Arlington, VA.
